The Dubai Sugar Conference has earned its place as "the must attend" event in the world sugar calendar. The quality of the conference is world-renown, attracting speakers from the top of the profession, but it is really the quality of the attendees that makes Dubai stand out. Indeed, more sugar is traded during the three days of the conference than at any other time of the year.
So if you are involved in the world of sugar – or want to be involved – and have not yet attended, then you should give it a go. You will not be disappointed.
It is with great pleasure that we have seen attendance to the Dubai Conference growing significantly every year. Nevertheless, as we strive to offer you our best, we have made three key changes for our 2012 event.
- We will alternate panel discussions with our more regular format of three speakers and a question and answer session. Attendees tell us they find panel discussions, with audience participation, more stimulating and a more effective way of communicating information than through presentations.
- We introduced a 'middle day' in Dubai last year at the request of our hosts to allow more time for meetings, networking and, of course, negotiations. For those who have no meetings, or who are just starting in the business, we introduced an Education Day, a concept we refined in Singapore and India. We will continue this idea this year but with changes based on feedback received. In particular the day will be at no extra cost and sessions will be clearly marked as beginner, intermediate or advanced.
- We will step up security to prevent gate crashers. We believe it is profoundly unfair that attendees who pay should be inconvenienced and crowded out by those who have not paid. So if you are planning to go to the Dubai event without paying the registration fee we urge you to reconsider.
