  jk Prasert Tapaneeyangkul, the Secretary-General of the Office of the Cane and Sugar Board, Ministry of Industry, oversees all administration of cane and sugar affairs. Previously, he was Inspector-General responsible for 12 provinces mainly in central Thailand and formerly 13 provinces mainly in the Eastern Seaboard, inspecting all aspects of industrial affairs including industrial environment, renewable energy, science and technology. A graduate of the Faculty of Engineering (Sanitary Engineering), Chulalongkorn University, he has a Ph.D. (Environmental Engineering with Distinction) from I.N.S.A., France and is a graduate of the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University. Dr Prasert was Deputy Director-General, Chief Information Officer and Director of Safety Technology Bureau at the Department of Industrial Works and Thailand Representative in TC 207/ISO 14000 for 12 years and national representative on the Committee on Environment at the Asian Productivity Organization.  

  jk Cherdpong Siriwit is Chairman of Thai Sugar Millers Corporation Limited representing 47 Thai sugar mills. A veteran in Thailand's sugar and energy sectors, he has extensive knowledge of the country's economic, sugar and energy sectors. Mr. Cherdpong's career in the Thai bureaucrat and private sector includes roles at the Ministry of Industry as Secretary-General, Office of Cane and Sugar Board, Director-General, Office of Industrial Economic, Director-General, Department of Mineral Resources, Secretary-General, Thai Industrial Standards Institute and a Permanent Secretary Ministry of Energy. In the private sector, he chaired four important Thai energy companies - PTT Public Company Ltd, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Ltd and Thai Oil Public Company. Mr. Cherdpong holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from Thammasat University and an M.A. in Economics from Georgetown University, USA.  

  jk Jonathan Kingsman is the Chief Executive Officer of Kingsman Group. After graduating from Cambridge with a Master's degree in Economics, Jonathan began his sugar business career with Cargill, working in London and Minneapolis. He started his own sugar brokerage company in 1990 and developed a world-class reputation as a sugar market analyst and report writer. Based in Switzerland with representatives in Australia, Thailand, India, the UK, Brazil and Canada, the Kingsman Group began covering ethanol and biofuels markets in 2000 and is now among the leaders in terms of sugar and biofuels brokerage, report writing, consulting and conferences. Jonathan is editor of the Sugar Trading Manual and is a regular speaker at international conferences.  

  jk Andrew Slatter is ANZ's Head of Agribusiness – Asia, based in Singapore. He is responsible for the development and execution of ANZ's Agribusiness strategy across some of the bank's most critical growth markets. Andrew's career has been focused on the financial side of agriculture covering private equity, international trade, inventory finance, risk management and asset restructuring. Prior to rejoining ANZ in 2007, Andrew held a variety of senior positions within Orchard Funds Management, ANZ's Food, Beverage & Agribusiness division and Elders International where he was the manager of their Japan office from 1997 to 2000. Andrew holds masters degrees in Agriculture Economics and Applied Finance. He is a Farm Management Graduate from Marcus Oldham College and a past recipient of the Austrade Graduate Asia Pacific Fellowship.  

  jk Auke Vlas joined Sucden in 2011 as Commercial Director and member of the Group Management Board. In 1991, Auke Vlas started his professional career at Cargill and worked as trader in different businesses including the Ocean Transportation Division, the World Trading Unit/Grains, the International Oilseed Processing Division and the Sugar Business Unit. From 2001 to 2011 he was respectively Global Trading Manager and General Manager Brazil for Cargill Sugar. Auke Vlas is a Law graduate from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Holland.  

  jk Toby Cohen is a Director of Czarnikow Group and C.Czarnikow Sugar Futures Limited. He began working for Czarnikow's sugar derivatives desk in October 1990 after graduating from the University of Surrey. In 1992, he joined Czarnikow's physical sugar trading desk where he focused on the sale of bulk raw sugar into Mediterranean and Black Sea markets. In 1997, Toby was posted to Czarnikow's Singapore office where he experienced the impact of the Asian financial crisis at first hand and the subsequent liberalisation of the Indonesian sugar market in addition to gaining knowledge of the more stable sugar markets.  Toby returned to Czarnikow's London office in 1999 and transferred to Czarnikow's Analysis team in 2001 becoming Head of Analysis in 2002. He was appointed to the Board of Czarnikow Group in 2006.  

  jk Pierre-Henri Dietz, an agricultural market analyst, joined J.P. Morgan in 2012. He is based in Singapore and covers sugar. Previously he was a senior commodities analyst for Sucres et Denrée, Paris where he coordinated sugar and ethanol markets research within the trading department of Sucden. Prior to joining Sucres et Denrées in 2007, he worked two years as an oilseeds trader within Cargill. He was sourcing, trading, and managing the supply of rapeseeds and sunflower seeds for various European Cargill crush plants. Pierre-Henri Dietz has a Master's Degree from the France's top post-graduate engineering school for life sciences and business economics called Agroparistech.
 

  jk Jackson Chan, Asia Regional Manager of Cargill Sugar Business Unit, is leading a commercial team of 40+ people in the region. He is part of the leadership team of the Sugar Business Unit. He is responsible for the origination, marketing and trading of raw sugar, white sugar and ethanol in the region. In addition to his commercial role, Jackson is also the Cargill Country Representative in Hong Kong. He chairs the Hong Kong office management committee. He participates in local charity organization activities and used to actively liaising with American Field Services (AFS) programs sponsored by Cargill to send local students to USA every year since 2006. Jackson graduated from Hong Kong University with a major in economics.

 

  jk Patrick Chatenay, Director, ProSunergy (UK) Ltd, provides strategic advice and implementation services for the world's sugar, renewable energy and bio-fuel industries. Since 1985, he has built an international experience in the sugar industry. He held roles as with Saint Louis Sucre as Director for Economic Analysis and in 1990 was appointed to its Executive Board as Director for Information Systems. He was also Assistant Managing Director of Azucarera Ebro, the largest Spanish sugar producer, and board member of IANSA, the Chilean sugar producer and food processor. From 2003 to 2008, Patrick researched investment opportunities in the Brazilian sugar/alcohol industry for the Südzucker Group. He holds a BA in English, Masters degree in econometrics from the University of Paris, Diploma in public administration from the Political Science Institute of Paris and an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
 

  jk Gareth Forber is Head of LMC's Sugar Research Team. He is responsible for conducting studies for clients such as blue-chip companies, industry associations, multilateral institutions and government departments. This work includes the analysis of sugar industries and markets around the world, feasibility studies for new sugar and ethanol projects and providing policy advice to governments and international organizations. Gareth is editor of LMC's regular monthly and quarterly publications including the Sugar Bulletin, Sweetener Analysis and Sugar & Sweeteners Quarterly and also oversees LMC's sugar production service, which compares the cost of producing sugar in all the major industries around the world.
 

  jk Kiran Wadhwana, a Director of Comdex India Ltd since 2003, has been involved in commodity futures and has been on the sugar product committee of NCDEX and MCX. Kiran has broad experience in the sugar milling and soybean processing business extending over the past 25 years. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan, USA
 

  jk Maung Tun Tun has spent much of his career in trading soft commodities. He has traded for Cargill grains, oils and oil seeds as well as sugar. Tun was a CEO of Coimex Trading SA in Geneva before becoming a consultant for trading companies. Being a Burmese and with the changes in Myanmar, Tun has been advising private clients for investments in Myanmar. He also works as head of consulting for Kingsman.
 

  jk Brent Casey is based in Brisbane, Australia and is the General Manager of Sales and Business Development for Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL).  QSL is the largest exporter of raw sugar in Australia, accounting for 93% of all exports.  After graduating from university with a Masters Degree in Economics/Finance in New Zealand, Brent spent 10 years working for BP in the a variety of roles including business development, performance management, and oil trading.  Brent joined QSL in 2009.
 

  jk Regina Bautista-Martin is the first lady Administrator of the Philippine Sugar Regulatory Administration. A sugarcane grower and civic leader with a focus on the wellbeing of small farmers, she undertook post-graduate study on Program Development Management at the Asian Institute of Management. Previously, she held key positions in various civic and sugarcane industry organisations such as the Asociacion de Hacienderos Silay-Saravia (AHSSI), AHHSI Planters Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Silay-Saravia Railways Cooperative, BJB Agro-Industrial Company, Sugar Industry Foundation, Lanatan Agro-Industrial, Mulawin Real Estate Corporation, Associate Missionaries of the Assumption Philippines, SIMAG Foundation, Kabuhi Foundation of Silay City, Association of Foundations, and Negros Economic Development Foundation. As SRA Administrator, Ms Bautista-Martin has represented the country in various international conferences and headed the sugar industry delegation to the USDA in lobbying the country's sugar quota.
 

  jk Carlos Murilo Barros de Mello, Managing Director for Macquarie Bank, is responsible for the global sugar physical trading business, trading sugar and ethanol and managing risk positions in both derivatives and physical markets. He has a strong track record with over 18 years background in agricultural commodities, dealing with sugar, ethanol, soybeans and coffee. Prior rejoining Macquarie in 2011, he was Commercial Director for Cosan and previously held directorship positions at leading agribusiness companies in the trading, production and investment banking industries. He developed roles in physical and derivatives trading, origination, marketing, research, logistics, as well as marketing structured hedging solutions and trade finance products to the commodity industries. He has a Bachelor in Economics from University of Rio de Janeiro and Master in Business Administration from University of Sao Paulo.
 

  jk Tae Won Jung (Tom) is the senior manger of sugar department at CJ Cheil Jedang Corporation, Seoul, Korea. He has worked in sugar department since 1995 with experiences in domestic sales, raw sugar purchasing, white sugar export and overseas investment.   He is now is responsible for purchasing raw sugar and grain (wheat & corn) and marketing refined white sugar to Asian market.
 

  jk Manoj Marar heads the sugar division in Indonesia for Olam International. Olam has been involved with the sugar business of Indonesia for about 15 years. Currently, Olam owns and operates a sugar refinery in Indonesia (PT Dharmapala Usaha Sukses). Manoj has been in Indonesia for more than six years and has been involved in both trading and manufacturing operations.
 

  jk Hirotaka Takeishi is the Chief Trader of Sugar Division, Mitsui & Co.,Ltd., Tokyo, Japan. He has more than 10 years experience in the sugar industry including the trading role in Mitsui London and Thai sugar mills (Kumphawapi/Kaset Phol). He is responsible for the management of the Thai sugar mills, marketing and trading of raw sugar, white sugar in the Asian region and is in charge of the importation of Japanese specification raw sugar to the affiliated refinery in Japan.
 

  jk Mike Barry is CEO of MSF Sugar Limited. After a career in senior management roles in the building and construction materials sectors, he joined the ASX listed Maryborough Sugar Factory Limited  in 2007 as its CEO. The company acquired the Mulgrave Central Mill in 2008 and then the northern milling assets of Bundaberg Sugar in 2011 and changed its name to MSF Sugar Limited. The company was acquired by the Mitr Phol Group from Thailand in 2012 via an agreed takeover. MSF Sugar is a large cane farmer, operates four sugar mills, has a strategic investment in sugar terminal assets and is Australia's only direct raw sugar marketer. Mike has a bachelor of Business (QUT) and a MBA (UQ).
 

  jk Pat Dean, Global White Sugar Manager with Louis Dreyfus Commodities Suisse SA and based in Geneva, joined the company in 2007. Previously, Pat spent 12 years as part of Tate & Lyle PLC, initially based in London but then later in Bangkok, responsible for the sugar marketing in the Asian region. During his time in Asia he developed a notable experience of the intricacies of both the Indian and Thailand sugar industries. He graduated from Brunel University, London, with a BA (Hons) in Management Studies.
 

  jk Rahul Khanna is a shipbroker with RS Platou based in Sydney, Australia, within the global sugar chartering team. New Delhi born, Rahul previously worked for Clarksons for four years. His responsibilities include sugar chartering for clients in Australia, the United Kingdom & Central America, chartering for a major U.S. trading company's pet coke and chemical imports into Australia and working the sub continent market closely for several major Indian resource companies and Indian ship owners. He has experience in all sizes of the dry cargo market from Capes down to handy size, though mainly concentrating on handy, handymax & supramax.  Rahul contributes to RS Platou's research and market analysis products. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Melbourne.

 

  jk Michael Whitehead, Director, Industry Insights, Agribusiness for ANZ, focuses on mapping industry-based trends and analysing the impact of sectoral changes and dynamics on agribusiness sector stakeholders. Previously, Michael was Macquarie Agricultural Funds Management Product Specialist in New York, responsible for global marketing of major agricultural funds, focussing on grain and oilseeds in Australia and Brazil. Formerly, as Executive Director, Rabobank's Food & Agribusiness and Advisory team in North America, he provided industry research and corporate strategy. He featured in global media outlets, including CNBC, the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal. His background is in agricultural production and consulting, in Australia and China. Michael has a BA, La Trobe University, an MBA, Melbourne Business School and the Rotterdam School of Management, and completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Agribusiness Course.
